Colorado Big Game Hunting
Coulter Lake Guest Ranch is owned and operated by Forest Keith. (2022)
Forest is also the local owner/operator and head guide of Flat Tops Adventures Colorado, LLC, which operates under White River National Forest (WRNF) permits in Units 33 and 34. The WRNF elk herd is the largest in the world, and our hunting area is right in the middle of it.

Colorado elk archery hunts are conducted in September, and rifle hunts are held in October and November. See below for more information, costs, or to send a booking request to check availability.
Colorado Flat Tops Elk Hunting
Our hunting trips consist of everything from a drive-in glamping style camp, an 8 - mile horseback ride to a remote wall tent in a non-motorized area, to spiking out several nights in a minimalist backpacking camp. This allows us to cater to all levels of physical ability.
Our Unit 33 hunts take place in a remote roadless area that is a draw unit. Non-residents draw this archery tag on average with only one preference point.
Our unit 34 archery hunts are over the counter tags and take place in an extremely large area on the Eastern portion of the Flat Tops. Most camps are approximately 2 miles from any road with the exception of a couple of drive-in camps.
